That was the day she made herself the promise to live more from intention and less from habit.
Now getting used to the pattern, I woke up after more than 8 hours of sleep, undisturbed by the sounds around, ready for yoga, this time taking my bandage on the right knee off before the class. I was curious to weigh myself considering the one day of fasting yesterday but the place was locked, thought of trying my luck again tomorrow.
Today there was a new yoga instructor and so were his stretches for an hour. It felt good to sweat in the morning as I could feel my body more awake with the stretches and as we lay in relaxation, I realized I was bitten by two mosquitos at the same spot, next to each other. After a quick shower and hair wash, I went to the place to check my weight again and consultation room was still closed, later I would learn from the doctor that it is to prevent animals from entering in the night however one could open the latch and go whenever if needed. Before I left, I had a dose of some given medicine, here we don’t question, what is given we take as it is all in good health and interest. At the breaky table, we had some great laughs. There is something about knowing familiar faces and being day 3, I felt like opening up to those around. The Indian bro duo were interesting as usual and another gentleman from the locality who now lives in Mumbai since few years became my daily audience. A new lady joined in and sat next to me, she was from Germany. I saw the look of uncertainty on her face, the one I had as well on my first day, and so I started a conversation with her. She came from the other centre where I would head next – Lakes and Mountains, and was originally recommended this place by her parents who are regulars. There is a relation of all sorts here, either one brings their families or families bring them here. It is the relation built in India or in Germany where doctors often travel to as they have a centre there as well.
Sipping the hot water at the terrace once back to the room, listening to birds and crickets, I was peacefully waiting for my consultation in 20 minutes. A thought was in my mind, today would be the day I shall write about my plans for future, today would be the day I shall further invest in myself.
This amazing thought changed within seconds and I parked it for now, as I went to the library and picked up 3 reads in English. On my first day I was told that the library has only German books, thanks to the lady I met who was here on her 4th visit that I realized there were some English books too. In this trip, I wasn’t meant to read, I was meant to write, visualize and clear my mind. But then I thought, what if I split it, do reading some days to keep my brain active and then I write with a clear mind? With this thought, I picked up some great and unknown titles if I can say, to bring back full time reading to my days; as I was still offline. The first book was about the journey of life, the story of a European lady who’s into daily yoga. I read one chapter and moved on to the next one. The second one was about letters from the grandfather to his grandchildren, talking about his childhood and simple life in Kerala during his time and upbringing. He often compared it to the current lifestyle that his kids and grandkids were living, with all the technology. Now that’s a title I would love to read as it is so close to life in general, I like how he encapsulated time and life, then and now. And the third one was about Adiyogi, an intriguing subject written by Sadguru, I have been listening to his videos every now and then on YouTube as he makes sense to me, simply put.
In the next few hours, I finished reading around 200 pages from a book of 315 pages (the yoga one). Besides my 30 minutes of pressure cooker treatment in the morning, lunch, an hour of treatment, tea time, an hour of yoga practice alone and dinner, all I did is read. Dinner was fun again, laughing and joking with others. I was told I have a dark sense of humour, need to Google that. Rest of the night was a routine, one doctor came before dinner and I explained to him about the aches and pains I felt and instantly he recommended some changes in the treatments from next day onwards. Tonight’s wrap had a burning sensation, something new they had to help it improve, with that I went to sleep around 9pm which felt late already compared to other nights.
