“Investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make. it will not only improve your life, it will improve the lives of all those around you” – Robin S. Sharma

Last night was an ok sleep, besides 3 wakeup calls to the bathroom I slept till 5.30am. At the breaky table I had great chats with Jyothis about books and authors. She told me what she was reading and interestingly enough came the name of Robin Sharma. Apparently, in their college, his books are read, I was happy to hear that as with his vision and mission; what better way than include it than as a part of the education curriculum. What to say about Robin Sharma, he is one of my favourite authors and my life transformation started with ‘Monk who sold his Ferrari’. I even asked her about the collection in the library so she mentioned that these books are given by the guests who visit. After confirming if amazon delivers, I started making a mental list of books to order.

After breaky, I decided to continue reading while walking up and down like yesterday to digest the tasty food I had. It was a morning full of greetings to the team passing by and others around. Just then, during one of the rounds a crow crossed over my head, touching my hair. I could feel its claws on my head, this has never happened before I thought and wondered if there was a significance.

Today’s treatment was earlier and am glad it was as by the time we finished all the rituals, it was past lunch time so I felt rushed in the end. I was happy for Shruti as she was going home for a month to see family and today was her last working day. We chatted more, laughed more, I expressed more and she massaged even more into the problem areas. I was gonna miss her but hopefully will see her again next year around the same time. She asked me too and I said yes god willing, to which she suggested to come for pampering treatments next time and not just to fix my knee issues.

As I sat for the back massage with my hands on the knees, I went into a zone and started dreaming about my studio, with yoga paintings all over etc and just then she tapped my shoulder asking to release my hands, I then realised I was clutching strongly onto my knees.

What amazed me today was their concern on the bruises I had developed overnight on my right arm and right leg. Throughout the treatment, both ladies concentrated on the bruises and by the end, Anu decided to bandage it to my surprise. The amount of effort they put into my body makes me wanna respect it even more. I felt I owed my recovery to their hard work.

I went back to reading as soon after, I had 2 more books to read. After finishing Wings of Fire, it would be The Turning Points, both from APJ Abdul Kalam. Some key learnings from the books covered the 4 basic factors that are involved in successful outcomes, namely – Goal-setting, positive thinking, visualizing and believing. Also, involvement, participation and commitment were prime words to function.

Lunch was yum and only for me as my counterparts had different plans, one was on a cleansing mode while the other one was away visiting a place. I enjoyed every morsel and respectfully ate what I could to avoid over eating.

I finished the book and wondered if Jyothis would bring the other one and just then I heard her footsteps near the door. She had left the area by the time I reached the door to called out to her, and then I turned over to see that she had placed the book on the table outside, what perfect timing. Still I chose to start APJ Abdul Kalam ‘s second book so the story continues and it did. Promising her I would return her book in 3 days, I kept it safe with me. During consultation, Doctor explained some details and checked points as I was complaining of back ache etc. He also suggested to come for yoga at 4.30pm to which I couldn’t refuse. Before the consultation finished, he pressed something on my forehead, said a silent prayer and finished with ‘Get well soon’, how simple was their practise. He has done this before too and today felt even more special as I saw another Doctor sitting across the table with folded hands praying with him. After the treatment on the knees, I went straight for tea time where a steamed banana was waiting for me and then the yoga pavilion, of course with the book to read in the meantime.

Had a good yoga class with the doctor, as it was only the both of us so it became a private one and even then everything hurt. He did explain that the body is fragile hence the pain and changes. After the relaxing session, I went to catch up from 5.30pm till dinner time on the book.

During dinner, we chatted about places and countries to visit and things to do. Interesting how much you can learn from another person even without knowing them. I took the Rubik’s cube so Vishnu (another great and simple guy in the centre) could learn too as I felt he was keen. Not minding the language restriction, I explained to him the first step and asked him to get that right, when he did I distorted the cube again and again so he can get it right every single time. I felt this is the best way to learn, until then we didn’t proceed to the second step. Once he was confident and not scared to fail anymore, we went to the next step which again he practiced before we called it a day. In the end, he wanted me to show how it’s done so he could record to stay inspired and after 2 mistakes, I managed to get it right. Later it hit me to try again in my room and I recorded once more, and this time added some music, increased the speed to make the 4 minutes video a mere minute-long.

Rituals began soon after, Shruti came to remove the bandages, she had a big smile as she flew out the next day and I happily hugged her, told her I will miss her and she replied she would too. I told her I aim to come next year again, maybe not for this long but for some days hopefully, and as if she was giving her consent, she nodded and said you must come.
